Emporia State University (ESU) is a public university located in Emporia, Kansas. Established in 1863 as the Kansas State Normal School, it is the third-oldest public university in Kansas. ESU offers over 200 academic programs across various fields, including business, education, liberal arts, and sciences. Known for its welcoming campus community and hands-on learning experiences.

In 2010, Hwa Nan Women’s College established a cooperative agreement with Emporia State University. Graduates who complete three years at Hwa Nan can continue their education at Emporia State to earn a BA degree in any major within two to three years.

The first three Hwa Nan students graduated from Emporia State University in 2011. Since 2012, five more Hwa Nan graduates have been admitted to study there.
