The University of Puget Sound, a highly selective liberal arts college in Tacoma, Washington, hosts 2,600 undergraduate students and boasts impressive resources, including a passionate faculty and a diverse, academically committed student body.
The Asian Studies Department at Puget Sound offers a biennial fellowship funded by the Trimble family, allowing a female graduate to live and teach in China. Since 1994, Hwa Nan Women’s College has welcomed 14 Puget Sound graduates as teachers.
Puget Sound’s Pacific Rim/Asia Study-Travel Program (Pac-Rim), established in the early 1970s, promotes firsthand learning experiences in Asia. Every three years, 20 to 30 students are selected to prepare for a year of studies in various Asian countries. Hwa Nan hosted the 2008 and 2011 Pac-Rim groups, fostering valuable intercultural interactions for both Hwa Nan and Puget Sound students.
